The Independent College Fund of North Carolina (ICFNC) was established in 1953 to provide North Carolina businesses with an effective vehicle to support the state's private colleges and universities. Of the 36 private colleges and universities in our state, 26 are members of the Fund. They are:

Since its inception, the Fund has raised over $55 million for its member colleges and universities. These funds are used to provide student scholarship aid. Donors may make a general gift to the Fund, or they may choose to sponsor named scholarships (i.e., "XYZ Corporation Scholarship"). Named scholarships must amount to at least $2,000 at one or more of our 26 institutions. There are no administrative fees, so every dollar goes directly to the students
